In order to better improve the efficiency and experience of urban instant delivery, in 2017 Meituan launched the exploration of UAV delivery services, promoting the reform of fulfillment tools through technological innovation and accelerating the construction of an air-ground collaborative local instant delivery network. At present, Meituan has initially completed the R&D and construction of autonomous-flight UAVs, intelligent scheduling systems and high-efficiency operation systems, thereby creating an urban low-altitude logistics solution serving multiple scenarios and all weathers. In early 2021, Meituan UAVs completed the first order delivery task for real users in Shenzhen. By the end of 2025, Meituan UAVs had opened 70 air routes in cities such as Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Dubai, and had cumulatively completed more than 780,000 orders.
